Taken on Tuesday 18th June 2013. I was given unique access to the Vulcan and Woodford Airfield. Access to the airfield and visits are unfortunately strictly prohibited by the airfield owners. Security is extremely tight.

Hawarden Fitters

Ten years ago, a consignment of Russian aircraft was shipped through Liverpool's Seaforth Docks, and onwards to Hawarden Chester Airport. Here the plan was to make as many as possible airworthy for onward sale. Engineering work commenced on a number of airframes but was subsequently halted. The majority still remain hangared or parked outside. I had the opportunity to photograph the illusive Su-17 Fitters at Hawarden recently.
